How to set wine review reminders
Every time you mark bottles as Consumed, InVintory reminds you to write the tasting note. The reminder arrives in your notifications a day later by default, and the wine waits on your Wines to review list until you review it.
This works on iPhone and iPad (version 6.40.1 or later), Android (version 1.7.0 or later) and the web app, whichever device you removed the bottle on.
Right after you drink
Section titled “Right after you drink”On iPhone and iPad, removing bottles as Consumed shows a Bottle consumed message with two buttons: Create Review to write it now, and Remind Later to leave it for the reminder. The first time, iOS asks whether InVintory may send notifications — allow it, or the reminder waits in the app but never buzzes.
The message only appears when every bottle you just removed is the same wine and vintage. Clear out three different wines at once and there is no message — but each wine still lands on Wines to review.
Where your reminders wait
Section titled “Where your reminders wait”- Tap the bell at the top of Home (on the web app, in the header). The number on it counts your unread notifications.
- Tap the review reminder — You consumed … recently. It opens Wines to review.
On an older app, the bell opens a reminders list instead. It only holds the wines you tapped Remind Later on, for the collection you have open.
Wines to review lists every wine you have drunk, newest first, under the day you drank it. Each row shows the vintage and wine name and where it is from:
- Review opens the composer for that wine.
- Continue and a Draft label mean you saved a draft — tap it to pick up where you left off.
- Reviewed means you have written it up. The ⋯ menu offers View wine, View review and Review again.
The list is yours, not the collection’s: it holds what you drank in every collection you belong to. Nothing ever comes off it — a reviewed wine stays, marked Reviewed.
Clearing one
Section titled “Clearing one”Write the review from Wines to review and post it — that wine’s reminder is marked as read, or never sent if it had not arrived yet.
To drop one without reviewing, swipe left on it in your notifications on iPhone, iPad or Android and tap Delete.
Changing or stopping reminders
Section titled “Changing or stopping reminders”- When they arrive. Open notification settings and tap Reminders to write reviews. Pick a delay after drinking, from 1 to 24 hours — the default is 24 — or a set day of the week and time. See How to use notifications and notification settings. You can also tick Email to get them by email too.
- No reminders at all. Switch Reminders to write reviews off in the same place.
- No message after drinking. On iPhone and iPad, switch off Review Prompt. Bottles still record as consumed; you simply get the usual confirmation instead of the two buttons.
