How to add bottles to your collection

Search for the wine, pick the vintage, tap Confirm. Quantity, vintage and storage are the only three things InVintory needs — everything else on the form is optional.

Tap Add on the home screen. To scan a label instead, tap the camera icon in the search field.

Include the producer — Opus One beats Cabernet. Type the year too (2018 Tignanello) and the vintage step is skipped.

Popular vintages are the six years other members own most. All vintages starts at N.V. (non-vintage) and runs back through every year.

Type the number, or tap 1, 3, 6, 12 or 24 — those replace the count rather than adding to it.

The success screen lists everything added this session, with Search again, Scan again, Duplicate and Done. If the storage has a 3D layout, Add to 3D places the bottles in slots.

In the search results, tap the circle beside each wine, then tap Add to collection. A queue opens where every wine keeps its own vintage, quantity, size and storage — Edit Details opens the full form for one, Duplicate repeats one. One tap files them all.

Got the bottles in front of you? On iPhone and Android, Multiple in the scanner photographs them one after another and opens this same queue with every wine in it — see How to scan several bottles at once. It needs a paid plan.

Also on the form, all optional: bottle size (750ml unless changed), bottle location text for the exact spot, source, a note, purchase price and date, and tags. The purchase date starts blank rather than at today, and price uses your collection’s currency until you tap the currency code.

Purchased or received from is where the bottle came from — the picker offers places near you, sources you’ve used before, and custom ones you create.
