Meet Vincent, your AI wine assistant

Vincent is an AI sommelier built into InVintory. It answers from your own bottles rather than a generic wine database — so it can tell you what to open tonight — and it can add, update or remove bottles for you when you tell it to.

  • Your collection — every bottle, with its cellar, vintage, drink window, tags, quantity and prices
  • Your own reviews and tasting notes, private ones included
  • A taste profile built automatically from what you own and what you have drunk and rated
  • The preferences you write yourself, plus lasting wine and food preferences you mention in conversation, which Vincent saves to use later
  • Our wine catalogue and our regional vintage guides, for wines you do not own
  • Photos, PDFs and CSV files you attach to a message — a wine list, an invoice, a cellar spreadsheet
  • The web, when an outside fact would change its answer — critic scores, prices, news, or a link you paste

Vincent only sees the collection you currently have open. Switch collections and it answers about that one instead.

As well as answering questions, Vincent can change your collection: add bottles, edit details such as price, notes, cellar or drink window, mark bottles consumed, gifted or sold, and move bottles filed under the wrong wine to the right one. It can also record a purchase or a delivery on its way, and write, edit or delete your own reviews. It confirms with you first and works in small batches. Changing anything needs edit access to the collection, so a view-only collaborator gets a polite refusal.

When your plan includes VinLocate 3D cellars, Vincent can also put bottles into slots, move them from one slot to another, and take them out of their slots. Without it, Vincent can move a bottle to a different cellar or fridge, but not into a particular slot inside one. Arranging bottles yourself is covered in Understanding VinLocate.

On the web app, the reply after a change lists each bottle that was added, removed, moved or updated, so you can check it at a glance, and a question about a wine’s price can come back with its market price over time.

Vincent cannot buy or source wine, read file types other than photos, PDFs and CSVs, change your account or billing, or contact anyone for you. Asked for any of those, it tells you so.

When Vincent searches the web, the reply shows a Searching the Web step and links each source on the words it backs. It won’t change your collection in the same reply as a search: it tells you what it found and makes the change once you confirm.

The way in depends on your device.

Device Where Vincent is
iPhone on iOS 26 or later An Ask Vincent anything bar just above the tab bar, on every tab. Tap it to type, or tap the microphone to speak instead.
iPhone on an earlier iOS A Vincent - Your AI Sommelier row on the home screen: Chat opens the conversation and Scan photographs a restaurant wine list.
iPad The chat-bubble icon in the left sidebar.
Android An Ask Vincent anything bar just above the tab bar, on every tab except More. Tap it to open the chat.
Web at app.invintory.com Vincent in the left sidebar, and an Ask Vincent button on the home screen.

Every wine’s own page also has an Ask Vincent button at the top, which starts a conversation that already knows that wine. On iPhone and Android the Ask Vincent bar steps aside while you are selecting bottles, and on iPhone while you are on a wine’s page, because that button takes over.

To have Vincent read a restaurant list, open the chat on iPhone, iPad or Android, tap + and choose Scan a Wine List. On the web app, a new chat offers a Scan a wine menu card that attaches a photo of the list.
