How to import your full collection after a partial upload

No — do not delete them one by one. An import always adds bottles and never merges with what is already there, so uploading your full collection on top of a partial one leaves you with two of every wine you had already added. Clear the collection first, then import the whole thing in one go.

  1. Optional, but sensible: export your collection so you have a copy of what is there.
  2. Open Collection settings and scroll to the bottom.
  3. Tap Clear Collection Contents, type the word it asks you for, and confirm.
  4. Import your full file. CellarTracker can be started in the app or on the web; a spreadsheet or a Vivino export is uploaded on the web.
Deleted Kept
Every bottle, including everything in Past bottles Your cellars and fridges, and the sections inside them — they are simply left empty
The tags and custom field values sitting on those bottles Your tag names and your custom field definitions
Recent Activity, and the history your analytics charts are drawn from Your reviews and tasting notes

Clearing everything is overkill. Open the Collection tab, select just those bottles and delete them, then import the rest. Deleting asks you to type DELETE and the bottle count.

You cannot start a second import while one is still open — you will be told the collection already has an import in progress. If a previous attempt didn’t finish, cancel it before uploading again.
