Is there an Untappd for wine?

Yes, as of October 2026: Untappd itself. Its 15 October update added wine and spirits through a partnership with Wine-Searcher, so you can now find, check in and rate a wine the way you would a beer. Untappd still describes itself as built on beer, so if you want a wine-first app, Vivino is the closest on social features, Delectable focuses on following wine professionals, CellarTracker is built around a collection, and InVintory ties a private tasting log to the cellar you own.

The details below come from each app's own site or App Store listing, checked on 23 October 2026.

What does Untappd offer for wine?

Untappd's announcement says its catalog now includes more than 10 million beverages, including wine and spirits, drawing on 20 years of wine data from Wine-Searcher. Wine pages show the region, taste profile and vintage, and you pick the vintage when you check in. Every check-in still remembers where you had it, and friends' check-ins appear in a Community feed.

Untappd also launched 45 new badges for wine, spirits and other drinks, including Grape Expectations, Vine and Dandy and a Wine Legend milestone. If you only want beer, you can turn wine and spirits off in your preferences.

The announcement describes check-ins, ratings, badges and venues. It does not describe tracking the bottles you own.

Which wine apps let you check in, rate and log bottles?

Vivino: the closest wine-first social app

Vivino is the closest wine-first match for the social side of Untappd. According to its own site and App Store listing, you can scan a label, rate the wine, follow friends to see what they are drinking and rating in your feed, and like and comment on other users' ratings and reviews. It also tracks the wines you have tried with your rating, notes and date consumed, offers free cellar tracking, and sells wine in the app.

Delectable: best for following wine professionals

Delectable is the pick if you would rather follow sommeliers and other wine professionals than a crowd. Its App Store listing describes photographing a label to get ratings and descriptions and sharing recommendations with friends, and Delectable's own tips page describes following friends and Wine Pros, recording tasting notes, and a Taste Insights view of the varieties and regions you taste most. Its listing text is older, so check the current feature set in the store.

CellarTracker: best for tracking a collection with community notes

CellarTracker allows users to access millions of community tasting notes and ratings. A yearly subscription adds features such as automatic cellar valuation and drinking windows. Our CellarTracker vs Vivino guide compares the two in full.

InVintory: a private tasting log tied to your cellar

InVintory is a cellar app first, with a tasting log built in. You can review any wine with a Disliked, Liked or Loved rating and an optional Repurchase flag, a 100-point score, sensory notes, structure sliders for sweetness, tannin, acidity and body, a maturity of Hold, Drink or Past prime, and value for price. Reviews can be private or public, and the Explore tab shows what other members are drinking and what they thought across regions, grapes, and specific vintages.

Every bottle you remove from your collection goes into Past Bottles, a permanent, searchable record that keeps your tasting notes and lets you filter by why a bottle left, such as consumed or gifted.

    Which app should you pick?

You want the exact Untappd habit for wine: Untappd. Check-ins, venues, friends and badges now cover wine, though the app describes itself as built on beer.

You want a wine-first social feed and crowd ratings: Vivino. Its feed, follows, likes and comments are described on its own site and listing.

You want to follow wine professionals: Delectable. Its own tips page describes following Wine Pros.

You want to track a collection with community notes: CellarTracker. Free inventory tracking and millions of community notes, per its support page.

You want a private tasting log tied to your cellar: InVintory. Reviews and Past Bottles keep what you drank and what you thought in one place.

Can you use more than one?

Yes. Nothing stops you from checking in wines in a social app and keeping your cellar in an inventory app. The trade-off is entering a bottle in two places, so decide which app is your record of what you own and treat the other as a diary of what you drink. For the wider field, see our guide to the best wine apps for collectors.

Whether you check in socially or log privately, the best record is the one you actually keep.
