We're back with the inimitable Charles Curtis MW to kick off the year in style and talk about the region he knows and loves (and drinks) above all others - Champagne. The author of Vintage Champagne: 1899-2019, Charles has an extraordinarily deep understanding of the region and its wines. In this episode, he takes us on a tour of the region, painting a verbal picture of the hills, the towns, and the vineyards, and offers his critical insight into current trends, top producers, and typical styles. Champagne is increasing establishing itself as a serious wine to be enjoyed as such, not just a fun and fizzy marker of celebration. This shift in perception among collectors is in no small part due to proponents like Charles championing the tremendous quality in these bottles. For those who want to learn more about the world of Champagne - the difference between house and grower Champagne, the various terms you'll find on a label, and the key characteristics of the different grapes in the blend - this is an episode not to be missed.
InVintory emerged in response to a problem: Jeff Daiter couldn’t find bottles in his cellar, and one night, while searching in frustration yet again, he dropped and smashed the very bottle he sought.
He turned to his son, Josh – a software developer – to build him a solution: a simple app to easily track and find his wines.
The rest is history.
It is about collecting experiences. Every wine owner develops a relationship with the labels in their cellar: whether a bottle was purchased at the estate from the hand of its maker or gifted by a loved one, wine takes on meaning beyond the pleasure of its consumption. That is, after all, what makes it so special.
Yet, too often, these experiences get lost in the work of collection management, which can affect collectors of all sizes. For those with cellars or large wine fridges, their wares become dusty and disorganized. Bottles are forgotten and left to age past their prime drinking windows in hard-to-reach racks, until finally found to great disappointment.
Our vision is to build InVintory into the platform upon which wine collectors and enthusiasts around the world rely to meet all their wine management needs.

As an avid wine collector, I have thoroughly enjoyed using the app. It's been really exciting to see how InVintory has grown, and I'm looking forward to helping it continue on this path
